Ashar Prodeep is the first HIV positive women’s organization in Bangladesh. It began as a feminist women organization in 2008, under the direction of a group of HIV positive women who got together to share knowledge, provide support, and assure each other’s safety. It was registered on January 10, 2010, with the Women and Children Affairs Bureau of Bangladesh.
Ashar Prodeep is an organization of Women PLHA working for those women who are infected with and affected by HIV and AIDS, for improving the quality of life, ensuring rights and services, encouraging greater & meaningful involvement, empowering and capacity enhancement of women PLHA group and contributing to HIV prevention in Bangladesh.
